Election Day 2023: 5 things we learned

Friends,

As you may have seen in Politico Playbook this afternoon, our team put together this deck on our top five takeaways from Tuesday’s elections. In it, we cover key issues both Democrats and Republicans are focused on ahead of the 2024 presidential election, including turnout, social and economic issues, and campaign spending.

This past week, Democrats and reproductive freedom advocates earned some important wins, but make no mistake: 2024’s presidential election will be very close. While Biden has multiple paths to 270, both Democrats and Republicans are fighting for a small slice of swing voters. On Tuesday, voters chose Biden’s and the Democrats’ agenda at the ballot box, and a year from now, those voters will be faced with the same choice between that same agenda and extreme MAGA policies.

Take a look, and let us know what you think.
