Mark Medish, President of The Messina Group, joined the State of the World 2021 Conference hosted by Florida International University’s Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs and Arizona State University’s McCain Institute. Medish spoke with panelist Moises Naim and moderator Mihaela Pintea to discuss the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the international community and the inequities the pandemic has revealed.
“Women, minorities, the poor often get hit the hardest during exogenous shocks and that’s what we’re seeing here….Do we learn any lessons from this shock? Or do we just hope that the cycle will turn? And I think that’s the big question in front of us.”
