Kate Thomas is the Vice President & Digital Director at The Messina Group, where she brings more than a decade of experience in international affairs, global development, and strategic communications to the firm’s growing practice.
Prior to joining TMG, Kate served as Digital Director at NARAL Pro-Choice America, where she led the overall digital strategy and execution of online grassroots fundraising, national email acquisition and activism, multichannel advertising, digital multimedia production, website development and daily social media programs. Under Kate’s leadership, NARAL’s membership grew from fewer than 500,000 people to more than 2.5 million and the organization more than tripled the amount of money raised through online channels.
Kate previously served as a Senior Digital Strategist and Online Campaign manager for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where she developed and executed digital strategies for high-profile campaigns supporting legislative priorities — from the passage of the Affordable Care Act to immigration reform and the Fight for $15. Kate also served on the National Media Team during her time at SEIU, bringing valuable experiences and perspective in public relations for holistic communication she can deliver to any campaign.
Kate is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology. She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, her baby and her dog, Winnie.
