Tara is The Messina Group’s Chief Operating Officer.
She joined the company as a founding member in 2013 after multiple roles in President Barack Obama’s campaigns and White House.
She oversees day-to-day operations of the firm and focuses on the company’s corporate and international political work. Tara has worked in politics domestically and abroad for over ten years.
Tara has led international political campaigns for TMG in six countries, including the company’s work for David Cameron’s victory during the 2015 UK general election. Previously, she worked for President Obama for seven years, ultimately serving as an associate director in the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs where she managed the President’s relationship with state legislators and state attorneys general. She also served on the 2008 and 2012 Obama campaigns, and previously worked in the White House Office of Political Affairs, White House Operations, the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee, and the 2008 Presidential Transition Team.
Tara currently serves on the board for Global Counsel. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Brian. Tara received a B.A. with honors from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
