Sarah is the founder of Segal Communications.
Sarah began her career in journalism, earning her M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University. Prior to transitioning to public relations, she worked on the producing teams for CBS on “20th Century with Mike Wallace” and the award-winning “NBC News Special Reports.” Eventually, Sarah moved from working behind the scenes to working as an on-camera TV reporter for stations in New York and San Francisco.
Sarah has worked in-house for both public and private companies before moving agency side. She advised tech startups with The Blueshirt Group before joining SHIFT Communications to work with clients such as Whole Foods Market, 365 by Whole Foods Market, Sierra Nevada, Orchard Supply Hardware, Green Chef, Webroot, Simon Properties, and others.
From brand launches to executive profiles, Sarah has a deep understanding and love for the communications terrain. In 2018, Sarah launched her own consumer agency, Segal Communications, which was acquired by The Messina Group in 2021. Sarah is a board member of the San Francisco Public Relations Round Table and a member of the Forbes Communication Council.
A Boston native, Sarah lives in Marin, CA with her husband Ben, a creative director, two children, a Dalmation and a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Sarah is a news junkie who also immensely enjoys news satire. On her days off, she spends time with her family and dogs walking the beaches of Monterey County.
